another slave question

just got my vivitar 285hv today and its beasty

ive had my ebay slave for a while so i tried it out and it triggers the flash like once in about 20/25 shots. the little red light on both the transmitter and reciever flash at the same time and ive also added the sync cable, but still only fires the flash every so often

anyone else had this problem, or any ideas on how to solve it.

problem:- cheap ebay slave. happened to Ryans LOOOOAAAAAADDDDDSSSS and really fucked me off cos you are busting a huge air and the flash dont fire and its like ARGHHHHHHH

I gots ebay slave, and mine works fine if the lighting isnt too light.

Also Grant, if the lighting is the problem just focus/meter from something dark and move your cam up and focus on what you wanted to

Farmboy that was only because i had a faulty reciever lol.

My new 1s work perfectly fine now, umm Grant your problem is the same as mine.

YOU NEED BRAND NEW GOOD BATTERIES IN THE 285HV they take up soo much power, so you need real gd 1s or re-charable 1s ok.
