I was wondering if any of you guys had some tips for manual balance... maybe it's me but I either don't pull up enough or too much, and I can't find a "sweet spot" to stay balanced... any tips?

from observing daniel, its basically all in the TIME you put into it, and how much you use your break. To be good at manuals, you MUST use your break. Practice not using your break too much, but enough to where your fully controlled. Work your way up to were you can manual going REALLY fast. to get that sweet spot, its all about the amount of time you put into it to FIND the spot. Daniel literally manuals 1/2 of the time hes at a park, if not alot more. Practice bro, and drink your titmilk.

I never use my brake during manuals ever and I can do em well enough I guess.. It just scares the fuck out of me when I'm manualing down a ledge, etc. because I end up going pretty fast or looping out..

yeah, can't forget about your BM. haha

But try finding a nice, long clear area, and get some chalk. mark off a starting point, and mark off a spot taht you want to reach. try to manual from one mark to the other, and if you get it, make a new spot.

i manual with one foot or two feet and i only need to use the brake when im going down my uber steep hill.
But i hate manual combos cause i can hardly do em'

learn do them with two feet because they look and feel better than one footed.

Use two feet, one totally on the deck and your back foot with your toes on the deck and your heels over the brake. Then if you go over to far you can use the brake. When I manual I try to use the brake as little as possible so I don't slow down. I can also manual with both feet on the deck, without the brake at all, but it's really scary and I can't do it up stuff. But I can manual all over the place brake style, at Cooter Con I hopped up a little thing, manualed across a flat, down a bank, across more flat, up a bank, turned then went down a big bank, across more flat, up a bank, across more flat and down a bank. Without a brake I would've died hundreds of times. And I tried to jump a box after manualling down a big (see:really) bank but I couldn't because I used my brake to much. So try to use the brake only when it's completely necessary.

ye, that's how I do it. I don't get how you guys manual with one foot over the brake, because I never ever ride with my feet over the brake (I guess kinda like this guy: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=8795419648723870800&q=jason ) and it just feels plain weird when I ride with my back foot over the brake.. But whatever.

Yeah that's the only time I have my foot over the brake, if I could manual without the brake I would, but scooters are way too easy to loop.

I personaly put my foot at the left of the break (on my pro model) when I do one footed manuals (which I usually do) I do the same with two footed only I put my right foot on the right side of my break so there has far back as possible.

I dont see how people can manual with their feet on the dropout parts of the deck, I can manual with my toes touching the foldy on my pro never mind with my toes on the dropouts. Anyway ya just follow the advice given, practice, use the break with 2 footed ones.

Manuals are just keep doing to get better stuff. My manuals , I could only do them about 1 meter and then I am down on both wheels again but then for some reason , the next day I could manual maybe 3 meters or 4. Now , I am about 6 meters. I don't manual much anyway.

1 tip though. Sort of bend your knees and use it to push when you are starting to go lower. If you don't know what I mean , go to youtube and search Edwin Delarosa and watch all the videos. He does alot of manuals and look at his body when he does it.
