anyone use a Sony Handycam.. i need help with the DVD-RM

ok. i recorded stuff, and i want to edit it... i dont know how to get the videos from the DVD-RM disc, to my computer....

i put it in my computer and the files popped up, but it was all weird files that dont open, and the only thing that does open up are the pictures...


pleaaseee help

heres the step by step instruction.

1. grab camera very carefully.
2. throw it as hard as you can
3. go to craigslist and get a mini dv cam for like 100 bucks.

If you give us more info we might be able to help you. You need to convert the clips to avi, but you need to find out what format they are first. I wouldn't even bother with them unless they are outstanding clips because they probably won't look too wonderful after conversion.

I got one but mine works perfectly. Are you using the "Import media files? program that came with the camera? You have too do it through that, took me a while too figuere it out. But Andy is right, mini dv is so much easier and faster...

i got same cam is it like a dvd dcr 610 or sumthing if so jus use the sony programs that came wit it so it can import and use a cable not put it straight in
