AOSV2 problem

First off, i have an aosv2 and a district headset, phoenix phorks and an apex v3 scs. Ever since i built the setup(about 1 month ago), there has been a few problems, at first i put them off as minor fitment issues that didn't really matter, but after seeing what has happened to my mates aosv2's and stuff like that, it is starting to worry me.

*There is a 'ting' noise whenever i pull up for a hop, land, or put it under any stress, e.g. testing for headrock, which besides the click, there is none of.

*the headset top cap/dust cover is slightly out of place to the top of the deck's headtube, so on one side it sticks out over the headtube, and on the other it is not covering enough, this is only my a millimeter, but it could be causing the tightness that i can feel whenever i spin it to a certain point.

*no matter how tight i tighten the SCS, my scooter is never dialled, this one isn't such a problem though, i'm pretty sure it's the brake anyway.

So yeah, sorry for the essay, i tend to over-do things haha! But anyway, if anyone has any idea what any of it could be, i would really appreciate it, thanks for taking the time to read it :)

sorry for double post, but won't dirt get into the headset, i know it's sealed but isn't that the point of a 'dust cover'?

He may not be, I know people who do it. A good thing to do is to take a rag and put a little bit of oil or lube on it (the tiniest bit so the rag is still dryish) and rub over the headset to keep it clean.

yeah, i was a bit skeptical. I tried it anyway and it was an improvement, but i really isn't practical and it looks messed up. I have researched a bit more and seen that lots of people have said to put a tiny spacer under the dust-cover. Would this be likely to fix the problem? Given that it is tight at one point of the rotation but loose for the rest? maybe something is rubbing?

"ting" could be the brake- try resting your foot on it and then drop the deck

'course it could be something else- hard to locate the exact cause since the sound travels through the entire scooter

Take the dust cap off and see if it still has tightness when you spin it: if it still feels tight then you at least know it isn't the dust cap.

Tightness on only one part of the rotation could be a bent fork.

Concerning the SCS- since you can't get it dialed- exactly what isn't dialed?
If the SCS isn't seated properly and you can't tighten it good enough-this might be the problem for all the woes you are experiencing.

Im not trolling you. I have an aos v2 and I run no top cap. Its cus the top cup is too deep. Ill take a pic if you dont believe me

yo, thanks guys, I fixed the stiffness, it was a bent topcap haha! The tinging has gone now, but i suspect it will come back soon. At least i got the main problem out of the way.
