I think that you should just ride what you have, and if the bars aren't wide enough or tall enough learn to ride like that. I haven't changed my setup for a good 5-6 months now (apart from bearings)

Good. I rode the same bars for 3 years. They were 17 high. And I grew about 1 1/2-2 feet over those 3 years. I just got new bars a few months ago.
