go with the threadless, youre threadless headset will work better with it and you can dial it easier. and yes threadless is stronger too.Lloyd Bureau said:haha, I know Im not really a curious new comer, but I still got a question that I think would piss everyone off if I made it a thread. Im going to buy an SR fork and buffs, but I'd like to know what is the difference between a reinforced threaded SR fork, and a threadless fork + compression system. Is it that the threadless spins faster is stronger and tighter with the compression system and that the threaded one is looser and less strong. or is it just the price? Im pretty much going for the threadless + compression syst. but if I could save a few bucks, it would still be good for my wallet
in threaded forks the threads cut into the fork so it makes it thinner in the crevices of the threads, therefor it is weaker. then the fact that the threads eventually make threads on your bars from clamping hard. these threads on your bars now make your bars weaker.
and another plus with threadless is the contact area. when you clamp there is more friction holding the bars to the forks so they will hold better.
case and point, threadless is all-around better.
