who here has heard of at the drive-in, the mars volta, and sparta (or any combination of the three). i just listened to at the drive-in - relationship of command and realized how amazing of an album it is. the mars volta is really good too though their new cd is a little too astrological for my tastes but when they actually play theyre really good. and sparta is the worst of the three bands though i still like wiretap scars.
if no one has heard of any of these guys then i guses that sounded like a whole bunch of crap.

and mars volta is the best band around right now, hands down... deloused in the comatorium is fucking ridiculous, and frances the mute is really good too...(it clearly would have been better if rick rubin produced it...just like deloused...omar didn't do as good a job as he did)

sparta is lame.

i agree that mars volta is a very good band. especially the last song on their new album the 30+ minute song. that is some good shit. i wouldnt say they are the best out there but they can play. the singing can be irritating. overrated though id say

have either of you heard the actual song "frances the Mute"? it wasn't put on the album because the song is fifteen minutes long and the cd is 78. by the sounds of it it was meant to be the first track because at the end of the song it has the guitar part that is in the beginning of cygnus.... vismund cygmus.

i havent heard much at the drive in or sparta, but theyre good. ive heard more mars volta and theyre really good
