Backside VS Frontside

Who spins which way and which way do you guys think is better?

Personally I don't think there should be an "oppo" or "normal" and it should be backside and frontside.

They each have their ups and downs though. What do you guys think!

I hate it when someone calls a trick "opposite" more kids need to learn what frontside and backside are. The opposite tailwhip instead of heelwhip is the most annoying for me.

Its all opinion forsure. But I think some peoples frontside spins look better then their backside spins and vise verse.

all depends on if you tailwhip or heelwhip and also depends which way you barspin because some people truck and 3whip and they look pretty unusual

Due to how messed up my stance is (FS being natural, bs being oppo) I've had to work hard on my BS spins, and I think they look good. mainly because i flair, bri, and whip BS.

but my natural decades look pretty decent too

as for the topic, I'm fine with oppo/natural, it makes tricks sound more impressive mentally knowing the person is doing it the way they normally don't

I naturally spin FS and i naturally heelwhip, but on grindboxes in learned BS feeble's first, soyeah kinda weird but idgaf

I think its all preference, I think backside spins look more steezy and are harder but frontside spins are easier and dont look as good, (im talking just 360s etc because 3 whips and trucks should always be frontside imo )
but I think its good for a rider to be able to do both, like I can spin backside fairly easy and also do frontside spins
all opinion but I think you should know how to do both

It should be frontside and backside, because oppo denotes opposite, which may be different for multiple people, since some people spin frontside regularly and some people spin backside regularly.

I can spin both ways but I spin backside better.

i spin backside naturally, but i feel more comfortable throwing front 180s over gaps. its weird.

i know what you mean, because if you bail on a FS 180 you're going to land face-down. but if you bail on a BS 180 then you're going to land on your back. i agree with you. however, FS 360s down gaps are scary cause if you land 270 you fall on your back.

i think that tricks should be categorized by fs and bs and not considered oppo or natural because in the end they're all tricks and you should learn it both ways. compare it to skating. skaters don't go saying, "oppo smith" they go and say "back smith". fs and bs just is easier and in games of scoot it teaches those who spin differently to learn both ways and same with grinds.
