CAUTION: I'm NOT trying to stop anyone from buying RAD bars, this is just a solution for people that live too far to order them, RAD bars are way better than this, I think.
Right, so lately my T-tube breaking rate has amazingly increased, so I thought to make a steel one. I bought two steel pipes today, its some standard kind of steel, not 4130 or anything (if I wanted to make a 4130 one I would probably have to order a bunch of 20ft long pipes or something, instead of a 2ft long one). I still have to weld and bolt them though, heres a pic of how it looks unwelded. The longer pipe goes all the way down into the fork so it also acts as a reinforcement. The bars are wider than standard ones, Im not sure if I will like that but if I don't, I can always take a saw and cut it. Here's a pic of how it looks unwelded and unbolted, Ill post next ones when it will be done:
