if you put threads on the inside of the bars and on the piece that goes in the bars and you threaded it in it would work but the problem is it would come loose,so,if you want to do that you have to weld it

yes...oh when i put the picture i was assuming that you all would thing i was welding it...wich is what i would do i would weld it..just the top part of the extention is kindof a reinforcement so it wont break..
