somthing fun to do: get some cheep plastic bar ends and 2 metal bottle caps (the kind on beer bottles and the like). take a bottle cap and make a hole in the middle. put one bar end in a vice without the screw and expanding system in it and heat it a little bit with a lighter. quickly take the bottle cap and heat it relatively hot (if it leaves a painfull blister on your finger when you squeeze it then its hot enough). place the hot bottle cap on the bar end with pliers and press it in using a small hammer. the plastic should melt around the cap and solidify. you can run the screw through the hole in the cap. repeat. now you have bottle cap bar ends. tip: a little hot glue in the bottle cap helps hold it on

barends are the things at the end of the bars ...their supposed to save your bars and grips from scratches and tears when you fall over.
