Thought this was a good thread last year so I thought I might as well bring it back.
Just post any scooter related trends or other things that happened this year, good or bad.

Good:
more Full lengths
Switch tricks
better made videos
more riders
tilt 2
lux
more street jams
tilt, proto, tsi
more crews
small, rider owned companies
front and back lips on quarter
new tricks, like feebles on rails
longer decks
lucky isn't that big anymore
french/spanish riders getting really gnarly

bad:
random sex changes
kickless rewinds
people trying to be brandon james
envy/fasen/apex
low/wide bars
most riders being 8-12 years old
bleached hair
too high bars
tucked in shirts

tbf I haven't really watched many videos that I didn't like this year largely because I haven't seen any "park" videos
but

good: everything is becoming realer, style is actually becoming a thing that people have
people are adopting skating's aesthetics in terms of filming etc
people are finally riding pools

bad: music choice in videos is still not on point
scooter kids still exist
people still heeldrag

probably one of the worst things about scooter videos right now
like not so much as in it's bad but as in it's all kinda bland and predictable.
especially tilt. like tilt has decent music but they definitely has an image that they maintain and all tilt videos seem the same at this point

like the 2014 satori shorts were probably my favorite music/editing-wise

then again my favorite music in skate vids has been largely in bronze/pyramid country vids ie electronic music bordering on vaporwave and I feel like I might be an outlier but still

I think this has to do with the fact that many riders still have this image of what is "street" and what is not. It was already a huge step for tilt to move away from the vx and start filming HD, even thought many people don't think that is "street". Trying to be street has caused a lot of riders to think they will get respect simply because they use beach fossils or tame impala in their edits, but it really just makes them not stand out at all. The same goes for rap music. almost all of the new rap and trap music that people use for their videos sounds the same (many are even the same exact songs). I hope tilt kind of picks up on this because their video production is already very good, but due to the soundtrack the videos mostly feel the same. Scooter riders who are making videos really have to follow the footsteps of skate videos now, which have really any kind of music including country, electronic, and jazz, which are styles of music that I have seen in very few edits.

Nah people shouldn't use jazz and country or any genre in particular. people should just stop using generic pitchfork core music and actually expand their horizons

jordan is 17 I think but he is seriously good

and yea street/park need to stop hating each other. I'm currently trying to get into park after being primarily a street/flat rider and really enjoying it. I'm still way better at street/flat but I'm progressing and having fun in park
