Just got back from my first cyclocross race and it was hard, but fun. Now I need to get SPDs or something other than Holdfast straps.

SPDs look to be the cheapest, but it seems like egg beaters are more used for cross. I think they're easier to get into as well? I don't know if that's true, it just seems like you can clip in from four different places on the pedal and I don't want to waste time mounting.
