Um again FUCK OFF. Why do you not listen to us. And the weld warranty is for the bars and welds. Even the best bars on the market can be broken in a matter of weeks, even days.
And with bridges. They are usually bolted and have really really thick steel. If you made bars with really thick metal the would be heavy as f***. And i have no idea how you can bolt the bars. Thats enough from me. I need to go back to my ipod :D

hey, mr "i'm A FUCKEN PATRIOT", you do know who this guy that owns blunt is right? haha, I'm sure he'd know alot more about manufacturing quality goods for our sport than you would. You see, building bridges has nothing to do with this conversation - apart from the fact of you needing to get over it. building bridges is completely different from making scooter parts. You see, parts need to be light, strong, and look good. Bridges, there is alot of leeway for the light part, the strong part, and the looking good part. Scooters, you need to sacrafice weight for strength, vice versa, and you have 2 common diameters to work with. Bridges, you can make them however the fuck wide you want them, scooters, they will only work at one width, bridges, as long as they aren't going to fall down they can be however the fuck heavy you want them to be, scooters, well, lets just say no-one likes riding a boat... bridges, you have alot of space to do all your andy pandy shit and try to make them look good, scooters, you got something about the size of your brain. So, ffs, fuck off!

The point is Mitch, the guy on here who calls himself BLUNT SCOOTERS, who I assume is the owner? Has been telling everyone on here how the quality of his products from Taiwan are as good as anything else on the market. Yet on the website it only says on the home page:

"Blunt Scooters is an Australian based company operating out of Melbourne. All our products are designed and manufactured by our specialist team that all have backgrounds in BMX, Skating and Scootin. And all with a common interest and aim; Supply the scooter community with the highest possible quality parts"

This is clearly worded to make people think that Blunts products are Australian made, when in fact they are all made in Taiwan. So if like the Blunt guy has said, the Taiwanese products are as good as the Australian made products on the market, why isn't he promoting that on the site? Also, whats with the "6 months warranty" on the welds?? Does that mean the welds could give way after only 6 months? In my business here in Tassie, we do a hell of a lot of welding, and they have to last for life, not just 6 months. For gods sake, do you buy a car or build a bridge or anything with welding on it, with the understanding the welds could give out after 6 months??? Offering 6 months on welds isn't a warranty, it's a joke.

Trevor

ok have you ever heard of an import? they could have imported the MATERIALS from taiwan because australia may or may not have the materials for that price. they can still manufactur these bars and stuff from the materials. so they would technically be made here.
and as for the 6 month warrenty. im sure you'll be able to find some person who may break the welds based on size and skill. maybe both. remember the welds are for scooters and scooter riders, not cars or bridges or watever your welding. i'll be happy to send you a picture of my bars in 6 months time. cause i doubt they are gunna break

anyway, i found out i got the last pair of strippers in the light blue at my local. (same light blue as the mr T's in the pic before) i dunno if my local will be getting anymore of those colours. but im pretty happy. they look sweet

Mate, your replies just about sum you and your new company up. Any serious adult or business man would certainly not use "hahaha" in reply to some serious questions about their business. Just be honest and post a reply to my comments, rather than laugh at them. The kids on here might think it's cool when really it's pretty pathetic. Lets see? At a guess (and I could be wrong of course) your what, in your mid 20s. Hang around skate parks acting the big guy who knows it all. Saw there was some money to be made with the scooter thing, and did a bit of legwork on how to get stuff as cheap as possible? I bet it never crossed your mind to even look at getting the products made here in Australia. Just went straight to Asia for cheap cheap cheap. Mate, just going on the fact you hang around places like this tells me all I need to know really. And the fact that your happy to have kids on your side that will use quite disgusting language and be so abusive towards others that you find funny says it all.

That's it from me on here. I'll leave you in peace with your band of loyal kiddies.

Trevor

PS: Warranty: 6 months on welds...... now thats worth a hahahahaha!!

You are making yourself sound really ignorant. 95% of top end BMX product comes out of Taiwan or even China (for a lot of complete stuff) the quality issue is a moot point. Taiwanese factories will produce a quality product second to none if you set your standards high enough. A 6 month warranty is also in line with many a top end BMX company component warranties and is more than fair for the wide range of intended use of such a product. Pull your head out of your arse, I have more than a decade of metal and engineering industry experience behind me and have seen just as much horror work come out of local manufacturing as I have seen asian nightmares. Set your QC high and your product will benefit.

What is it that you have done to help move the 'scene' forward?

my god its just a scooter what the hell is your problem
you build bridges, good on you. youre doing something useful unlike like us no-nothing kids. this guys has contacts in other companies which already make adequate products in bmx and skating so they know the situation/industry he is in so instead of using a engineer from aus who has no idea about the situation/industry so doesnt know about the demand of the product he is making and gets it done for a price that makes it unattainable to some people and would barely be an improvement in quality, he gets manufacturing companies to do it cheaper and faster so he has enough supply vs demand and makes it attainable to much more people.
sure there maybe some screw ups in the overseas companies but it will most likely save him money which saves us money, and the saving he has made he can use to back his products up with a warranty which covers his ass incase a few pair are crap quality.
Also have you considered that we use a weight vs strength factor in these products? its either heavy but wont break and in terms harder to perform tricks smoothly which will take its stress from then afterwards or its light and not as strong but easier to perform tricks which with experience will end up lasting longer than expected. sure its a scooter but like bmx, people will keep wanting lighter, stronger parts to get better at what they do.
bridges use a similar concept i presume but the margin when it comes down to it is much different, it would be rare that with all the technology in architecture these days that weight is that high of a factor in what you do so you go for as strong as possible and also its most likely not as efficient to get it manufactured overseas then shipped here then assembled so they get you to do it which is why you have a job today, so just let the man do his job and make his money and you to your own.
cbf grammar too time consuming

Was thinking about replying, but really couldn't be bothered feeding a disgruntled and bored Dad with some cheap kicks, because really that's all his after. As all he is saying is a bunch of factless conclusions and accusations.

The last 2 lads pretty much summed up. Thanks by the way.

oh and for the record, I wasn't laughing at you Trav... Dose that happen a lot?

trav blunt probably posts on here because this is where the majority of the scootering community gets their information and where his target market is. so i dont think he's doing it cause he's "some young guy" he's doing it cause its smart.
now go either find some concrete proof that his products are no good cause they are from taiwan. or go annoy some one else. i'm sure it wont take to long.

ozmanick where bouts you live in belgrave/selby? im in belgrave south near primary school.

and mr trev, im actually a team rider for blunt and ive had long talks to the owner about his products and how much shit they go through just to assure they will be good and worth buying.
i think you whole problem is that because its a new sport that everything is made locally in aus because its not popular enough like skate or bmx to have factorys making parts, well blunt is way ahead of the game at the moment.
but you have your opinions and so do everyone else.
kind day to you SIR

wats the go, trevor? if u dont like it, dont buy it, and stop arguements... OMG PROBLEM SOLVED! and maybe its cheaper for stuff to come from taiwan so a) its cheaper for the customer, or b) hes making a profit, which businesses do! if ur not cool with blunt, dont bother argueing and being a keyboard warrior, and call blunt!...
