Bmx rim strip

Hey i need a new rim strip for my bike, does anyone know if i can just use layers of electrical tape?

you could but it wouldn't be great. if anything use duct tape. but its gonna turn into diarrhea in hot weather. just buy a new rim strip, they're not that expensive
