[HowTo] Easy Bottle Cap Barends
by The Zen | 30 Jun 2008 6:34 pm
So some people think it's ghetto, some think it's cool. So long as you have a cool bottle cap it's just something to be different. If you do this with plastic barends, it should help protect them a bit longer.
What You Need:
Screw Driver (or what ever is used to tighten your barends)
Sharp Object (to put the hole in the bottle cap)
Bottle caps
Barends (I used the barends that came with my grips)
Handle Bar
Step 1
If your barends are currently in your bars take them out and remove the screw.
Step 2
Take the sharp object and pierce through the middle of the bottle cap. Don't make the hole to big, you want a snug fit for when you put it all together.
Step 3
Put the screw all the way through your bottle cap.
Step 4
Put your barend in your handle bar.
Step 5
Put the screw back through the barend and start to tighten.
Step 6
Before completely tightening your barend, adjust you bottle cap how ever you would like it. Whether it be facing up right or upside down is up to you.
**Note**
Bottle cap may bend while tightening unless you bend out the "teeth"
Step 7
Repeat steps 1-6 for the other side.
Step 8
Step back and enjoy your work.
