breaking in proto sliders.

I think breaking in wheels is bullshit. I just rode normally when I first got my Grippers, and I did the same with my Sliders and just about every pair of wheels I've ever owned.

how long did your grippers last you r-dubya?

I've only had them for like a month or two. They didn't break in the first week when you're apparently supposed to break them in, so I'm assuming that, like my Sliders, they are going to last quite a long time.

Some people you should ride one wheel in the front for a day or 2, then switch it to the back, and put the other new one up front. I did that with my first 2 pairs of grippers and they did last really long, so maybe it helped. My one friends still riding one of my old fullcores.

But then I got my Kassons sigs and just threw them both on and theyre all cracked up, starting to chunk and dehub bad, and Ive only had them for like 3 or 4 months.

Well, breaking in urethane is getting that film completely off. That's it.
And i think it's more important on grippers, demons and all those softer wheels.

yeah, that hill i was talking about is actually half a mile exactly. i looked it up on google maps and everything. i have one question. riding faster= wearing down faster?

okay. but since its a half a mile ride to the bottom, and ill be bombing the hill, should i only do it like 2 or 3 times? cuz ill be going at 15mph+

just do it untill the freshness line is gone. that line in the center of the urathane. and switch the wheels after like 5 times of doing it to each wheel i guess. and carve.

so basically when i dont see that line anymore, i should switch that wheel to the front and do it to the next wheel? and after that ill be good for doing my normal street riding?

Dude...you're supposed to wear a wheel in by riding it on the front, not on the back. Back wheels take a lot more stress than front wheels do. Honestly, I think you're taking this way too seriously. Just put your wheels on and ride them. If you seriously can't figure out how you should break your wheels in, chances are you don't ride hard enough for it to matter anyways.

dude, omfg it just got to me. i saw it on one site, that proto said you should ride the wheels in the front for like 3 weeks before putting them in the back. fuck no. im just gonna put them on and wear them down going down that hill. is that a good idea?

i just rode both of mine and then switched them when one of the wheels wore down. i just do alot of sliders out of fakies flat for the front wheel and do light manuals for the back wheel

^^ you didn't even have the wheels? haha as we said before you sound like you don't probably go big enough to do any real harm. Basically ride and just don't do any tricks you're not 100% on. Landing sketchy can destroy a fresh set of wheels. Just ride down your hill lie three times while carving, Flow around the skatepark a bit. Chances are they are going to be a lot faster then your last wheels, which will take some getting used to. Throw a barspin and tail whip here and there and slowly work up to bigger tricks over the next like 2-3. After that then just ride how you would.

alright thanks. yeah, i had demon cores before these and i just sold my demons today. so im expecting a big difference in speed. i have my bars and whips on lock. i land my bars 19 out of 20 times, and i catch my whips in mid air 4 out of 5 times. so should i just do bars and whips after crusing and carving down that hill?
