Buff Bars and Stock Forkss

Hi, Sorry if there has been topics about this before i searched and it didnt really have my answer...

well i have some buff bars but they dont fit over my stock fork.. i have tried filing the thread off an old bent fork but it seems near impossible to get it to fit. Is there any easy way to make them slide over the stock forks, like how would u get the thread off?

I have had an idea of using a 1" seatpost and sliding it down to the bottom of the fork, then welding it at teh bottom, then with the bit sticking out at the top, file it down and cut the remaining thread off the fork after the headset and nuts are on... then sliding the bars over the top (hope this made sense). would that work?

Is your clamp loose on your buffs? loosen it and slide it up past the slot in the bars and just jam them on, then move the clamp back down.

The seatpost thing I think would be too small and would just be a waste of a fork.

the seatpost thing isnt too small because i filed down the sides of it and it fits nice and snug into the fork. do u think i should do that?

If your fork is bent so the tube is ovalized, the major axis of it is bigger than the radius of the fork so it obviously won't fit. If not, what you can do is to try to just twist the buff bar onto the threaded fork, the threads are gonna be pressed into the top tube as it's made of a softer material.

are you talking about your homemade buffs, you've oviously got the wrong size steer tubing, its 1 1.8 or what ever on the innerdiameter not outer
