camera identify prob

i got a canon zr800 for xmas it works fine on my other xp computer ,but when i connect to my other one it makes a noise like it cant identify it

oh ya its being connected with firewire

help plz!!!

I don't know about video camera's but with my camera I had to change the Communication setting to PTP for my computer to recognize it.

just use a usb? thats what i use
