camera problem.

yea its a jvc mini-dv camera, its my parents but i use it to capture footy because matts old camera is broken as well and won't do that. so the other day i filmed a clip, came in, watched it on the display of the camera, worked fine. plug in the firewire, and something went wrong when capping it and it like froze or something, so i unplug the firewire, and restart vegas. now the screen on the camera is just blue when im in playback mode, you can rewind or fast forward or whatever, but when you hit play its just the same blue screen, and i can't cap footy. any help would be appreciated, thanks.

I'M A G.
I had a problem like this, when i click capture video you chose either DV or HDV /SDI and my camera is DV so when i would choose that it wouldnt work the screen would stay blue, but it would work on my LCD on my camera, so i chose the HDV /SDI mode to capture and that said it was wrong mode, then i went back to DV mode and it worked lol.

I dont know if your problem is like that and if what i did even changed anything maybe it was just a coincidence i dno lol.

yeah if its just blue im pretty sure your heads need cleaned... and thats most likely from switching out tape(s) (brands?) alot. if you clean the heads it should work good. do what i did:

go to your school media center thing
be like:

"My friend is doing a video project that im editing for him, he has a camera rented from you guys. The heads are dirty on the camera, so i need the head cleaning tape. Its a Mini DV camera."

"Ok here you go"

"kthxbi"

Still have the same tape today :) lol

I got myself banned.
If you put it in record mode it will usually tell you to use a head cleaning cassette if the heads are dirty... try it anyway though.
