Try buff them up abit with a scotch pad, then lay a few light coats of clear coat over it.

By buff do you mean like scratch so the clear coat will stick better

NO, use a green scotch brits pad, and buff them, meaning make them shiny, and look almost like stainless steel. The clear will stick

That looks sick, did you do that with a scotch pad, and what finish of clear coat? I'm gonna be using satin, will it turn out like that

Yeah it was done with a scotch pad. I can't remember what type of clear i used but i don't think it will matter too much.

Just go out and buy some, they don't cost much. Otherwise you could just use some wet and dry sandpaper or maybe even some steel wool, but you don't want to scratch the finish up on them.

Yeah that will work fine. It's up to you man, it depends how shiny you want it to look.
