Just find the one that fits, but really, really snugly.
And hammer away, then cut off excess, it does work.

Anyone with basic knowledge of shapes would know a circle is the strongest shape, not triangles.
Circles hold the load more evenly, making it stronger, who cares about ease if it will last longer?
