Cannon T3i or Cannon 60d

And what's a lense that doesn't make any noise when u focus?

Well what kind of lens do you want? Wide Angle? Zoom? Prime? Also a lens on a crop sensor body doesn't have a focal length that the lens says, like a 50mm is usually around 75ish.
There is tons of lenses you can get Canon brand isn't really cheap though, but there is always the third party lenses. You could get a Bower 85mm f/1.8 and have a perfect portrait setup right off the bat.

Also if I use I movie to edit does it effect the quality at all??
You can use iMovie to increas the quality.... In a way. Saturation, contrast, and such are all things that affect the quality. In my newest video I used a lot of those settings, and the picture was 40x better

Well they are kind of the same camera in a lot of ways.
-Both have a flip out screen
-Both film in 1080P
-Both are 18 megapixels
-Both have a Digic 4 image processor.
-Both have the same ISO capabilities.
-Both have 9 focus points.
-Both have a minimum shutter speed of 30s
-Both have a 1.6x crop factor
-Both have a built in flash.
-Both Have a hot shoe
-Both film in H.264 video format.

The T3i body is about 200$ cheaper than the 60D.

Things the T3i has that the 60D doesn't.
- 3-10 digital zoom.
- has a features guide ( shows you features. )

Things the 60D has that the T3i doesn't.
-96% Viewfinder Coverage.
-0.95 Viewfinder magnification.
-Shutter speed goes up to 1/8000 ( T3i has 1/400. I usually shoot scootering in bright daylight at around 2500-2000. )
-Shutter has a continuous speed of 5.3 frames a second (T3i takes 3.7)
-60D almost has triple the amount of battery life.
-Moisture and dust resistant.

The 60D is more heavier than the t3i. Also has a top view LCD screen.

There honestly the same camera picture and video wise, all comes down to body preference really.

You better read this, haha. I would get the 60D.

i dont agree although i do agree with your points, i would rather get the t3i as youll save money which can go towards a nice lens, specially seeing as its clearly gonnna be his first proper camera theres no need for the 60d, the best thing about it is the weather proofing and megnesium alloy body, thats why its so much more.

get the t3i

and you wont get a great lens for under 250, no way

if you are a serious photographer the top screen is enought to sway you anyway...its needed like 90 percent of the time and i love my 60d. waiting for the 7d mk2 though ;]

I dropped my 60D onto rocks and it tumbled into a river.

It was fine. The body of the 60D make it so much more worth it in my eyes because of this.

it is for sure a well built body and brock the 5d mk2 is a very nice body but i honestly am just not a fan of the price i would rather pick up a 1ds body in a couple months when the 1dx is finally attainable. The 7d mk2 will hopefull set a standard for cropped sensor
