Exposure is basically...
Either alot of light goes into the camera, in normal conditions this would be over-exposure.
Or not as much goes in, and it is under-exposed.
So you look for the perfect exposure, using Shutter Speed, Aperature, ISO and a flash.
All these combined determine how much light hits the sensor, giving the amount of light in the photo.

Hopefully that was understandable..

Yeah, composition needs work man.
Other than that, you've got the timing and colours down nicely.
 
Its been ages since ive updated this thread.. from now on im gunna be updating reguarly.. I just want feedback from REAL photographers :) just one pic

Its a tad underexposed.
A flower like that needs brightness, the darkness really isn't doing it any favours.
