if you want the update on my life here it is:
Yes, Im a mormon and Im serving an mission in southern Guatemala. I absolutely love it and my life basically rules. Im now basically fluent in Spanish, I can say whatever I want, and Ive been learning the language for a little over 8 months. Ive picked up a good accent as well (at least thats what they tell me!). In the mission we have a companion thats assigned to us that we live with and work with and do everything with. its actually one of the most important rules is that you never leave his side, unless youre at the house or in a bathroom. you have different companions once every 3 months or so, but it all depends, you could have the same comp for 6 months, or only 1.5 months. most of my companions have been latinos, from Guatemala or somewhere else in central america, and they speak no english. haha I barely even speak english these days!
In these missions, we live a strict mode of living. not all mormons live it but the missionaries are expected to keep a high level of conduct. We are on internet once a week, we dont watch any tv or movies, we wear suits and ties everyday, and our contact with girls is EXTREMELY limited. hugging them is prohibited. 2 long years of handshakes hahaha. having a girlfriend here, calling girls, contacting them in any way is enough to get sent home. we have no cell phones or any electronic devices like planners, laptops, whatever. we get up at 630 everyday, study scriptures, get ready, then go work, contacting people and talking to them about our church. its definitely hard and some days I have like, no motivation, but yeah, my faith keeps me going. that and baptizing people. coolest thing ever! if you go to my myspace you can see pictures of me here in the mission, like baptizing a woman in a river haha.
you have no idea how much I think about scootering still. dont even worry about me "falling away" or "quitting". Ive been debating on songs to put on my homecoming video haha.
I can really remember everything else I wanted to write, but if I remember I will edit this post. Just know that I love you guys, and the select few that I consider true friends (you know who you are) just know that I will be home soon and I plan on doing plenty of traveling. namely Arizona and Florida and/or New York. haha word em upppp one love peeeaaace
