Chris King problems

OK it might be a stupid question but i picked up a brand new chris king 2 or so months ago and have been running it ever since. it spins so slow i dont know why. my friend is running one also however his is like 4 years old he used to have it on his race bike whatever. but he says it aint broke in yet. I really dont think it should be spinning so slow regaurdless. if i hold the scoot by headtube and spin bars hard as i can the bars only spin 2 complete rotations. help me... thanks

I've said it time and time again, Chris Kings are NOT good for scooters, maybe after years of use and breaking in, but they require a lot of weight (a BIKE fork, stem, bars, front rim, spokes, tube, tire, and front hub) to spin smoothly, scooter's have a fraction of the front-end weight. Nobody will ever listen to me, but get a Cane Creek, they are smoother, faster, and a hell of a lot cheaper. Sell it and grab an S1 (made of steel, stronger), and S3 (made of aluminum, lighter), or a 110 (expensive, but the best their is).

kind of already spent a grip of money on it though... how much do you think i could sell it for? and where should i try? craigslist?

psh, I have a brand new chris king with no problems, if you my your scooter in the air and spin the bars, they don't even spin a full rotation where as my old shitter FSA used to spin and spin and spin

hasn't stopped me from throwing triple/quad whips, and bars feel so much better with literally no headset play, use your arms

it isn't junk are you kidding? in my opinion if you weigh less than 140-150lbs you should just stick with cane creek, they work fine

but if you do want to sell it, what color is it? lol

yeah i have an fsa unsealed. its alright. but my friend got a cane creek s-3 and WOW shit is amazing. solid, smooth, spins fast. like its an amazing headset im def. getting myself one

thanx for all ur help guys. i can still throw doubles and trips. but i rode my friends and his was just so much easier... it might also be his scoot has mini vultures which just feels so natural heighth and width compared to my hunched over bars atm. only till christmas i got trons coming in.

it is black... and how much would you wanna buy for. im not guarenteeing im gonna sell but im curious

Or, then there's a cane creek, which spins 10 or so times, is much lighter, cheaper, has no play, and in some cases has a lifetime warranty. What's the catch?

So I got a chirs king last year from chris king (They moved to portland from Cali) and I had my chris king for about 7 month untill I wore the cups out from installing the headset too many times since I've had so many TSI Decks. Now I got my chirs king for free from chirs king in portland. I went down there and explained my situation and they simply told me that it was the "application" that was at fault and that the headset was not "designed" for scooters. Conner is right when it comes to this not being the best headset for scooters. While using the headset I did notice it to be very finicky and would some times bind up from the tourqe of the handle pole.

All I know is now since I've had my Integrated headset, I will no longer be going back to standard headsets... I've had my FSA Impact Integrated headset for a few weeks now and it's the best headset I have ever had in my life! LOL.

INTEGRATED TSI'S ARE IN THE WORKS EVERYONE! GET READY FOR THE NEW STANDARD!

i got an s-3 its ssooo smooth but it spins pretty slow compared to my stock one-im pretty sure i just have the little cap this on to tight but was just wondering what to do

i love my ck i know exactly what you mean though, I thought it was weird when I switched from the unsealed pig but it spins so smooth and i dont through my barspins anyway so i honestly dont care how it spins
