i dont really understand what youre trying to ask. on sr forks the bolt goes up through the bottom of the fork and threads into the starnut that is in the bars.

yeh but what i dont gt is where in the bottom of the sr for does the bolt grip to tighten?? will it just go up through the bottom of the fork and keep on going untill it reaches the starnut. go to this website and the very top part of the headset wit the bolt does that sit under the fork so it has something to tighten on or is the a lip so the bolt can grip o the fork? http://www.on-one.co.uk/images/pagemaster/Orbit_MX_Headset.jpg

On the bottom of the SR fork there is a small hole that the head of the bolt wont fit through. then it tightens into the starnut and the bolt stays in place.

the threaded SR fork does not have this small hole. so, if you are thinking of a threaded fork then the hole isnt there because you dont need a compression system.
