computer

yeah, my computer is fine for the most part, however, whenever i open windows explorer and start going through files, it says it comes up saying Windows Explorer has closed because of a data extinction prevention or something like that, and then after that, it says DrWatsonPostMortemDebugger i think has had a problem and needs to close, so then when i hit close, everything freezes, and i have to hit ctrlaltdelete and go to processes and close drwtsn32.exe's process tree for it to unfreeze, any suggestions or help would be appreciated. thanks.

do a system restore to the last date it was working fine..mine used to do that, spyware might be causing it or a virus..so run your virus scan(if you have one..hopefully you do) and then do a spyware scan (i recommend spybot search and destroy) Well thats all I can tell you..not sure if any of that will help but it dosent hurt to try eh.

I got myself banned.
I wouldn't do the system restore. I would auctually turn that off I were you, i hate that bullshit.

I had that problem on my family/editing computer... it went away but heres what i would do
-run AdAware (look on downloads.com for it)
-run spybot search and destroy (downloads.com again)
-run a disk defrag (goto start-all programs-accessories-system tools-disk defragmenter)

The disk defrag could take like 14 hours to complete so run it overnight. Go through your harddrive, delete any old files you don't need, and uninstall any old programs you don't use anymore. When you run it, it will order all of your files on your harddrive, so like the stuff you use most if in the beginning and the rarely used stuff is at the end, stuff will load faster ect... and it might eliminate the error your getting. Most computer experts say you don't need to defrag anymore now that harddrives are so huge, but it fixes problems sometimes.

Thanks alot brian, i've run adaware, i do that all the time, but never done the other ones. The thing is, this computer crashed, and then my brother took the files off of it and put it on my parents new computer, then reinstalled windows, but this was on it.
