Could someone explain to me the benefit of an aftermarket compression system?

It's seriously just common sense. People need to stop
saying bullshiit about SCS. Seriously come on. Andrew
has effiecently made a new compression system that
works & looks great. How about instead of bagging on
a product why don't you support it?

Sell some stuff on ebay. Thats what I did to get my threadless
fork, headset, and SCS. Again not being a dick, but if a 16 year
old can scrounge up $185 buy selling old junk then you could to!
Do you not have a job or somthing? I'm just saying that if you don't
want to bother with threadless then don't. Get my point?

Yeah, I do. But we'll have to disagree on the necessity of a threadless/SCS setup.

Okay, fair enough. I understand we have different oppinions. I'm not
trying to change your mind or anything but I'm just giving you my
input. Although I'm kinda glad to hear somone stand up for
threaded forks. Well its your money, so spend it how you want.

I just don't see why an adult like myself

An "adult" (what are you 18?) like yourself should understand that threading forks thins out the walls, making the tube easier to break. Threadless forks, bars, and a compressions system is super solid and will be harder to break than the dinky china metal you get from razor. If you don't have problems with threaded forks right now, don't waste your money on a whole new front end. Im not.

the normal "inverted" compression system is just as good as if not better than the SCS.

threadless forks are a lot stronger, but if you dont need one dont bother getting one.

Like eric I was once a noob, I thought the same thing you did and i went with threaded parts. Two weeks later my inward threaded fork was almost unusable because the threads stripped. Now the ony way I am going to get my fork out is to cut the bolt or the fork. Im just giving you a headsup on the fact that threaded in the long run is going to cost you more

the way i think of this is... before inward bars and forks: rattle rattle rattle, tightspots on my headset, annoying arse problems. After inward bars and forks: No rattle, No tightspots (quick spinning smooth as fuck bars).... compression is where it's at. stock threaded sucks.

yes much more efecient and when your using a threaded fork the right way it is still slowly damaging itself

So now you're accusing me of being a noob?

I have a SR Fork V2 and it's served me well over the years...but for the last few months, I've been using a reinforced stock pro model fork because it's cheaper, lighter, and seems to be holding up just as well at the tube as a threadless fork ever could.

Though I will admit I'm starting to notice a slight bend in the legs.

tbh scs looks.. well not really good. to me .120 threaded is amazing and so is stock headsets.

and 65 dollars for compression? a starnut and bolt is 12 bucks. but i think im threaded for life
