john has a point. I mean good observation that a ton of channels are popping up emulating these "crews". Its not necessarily a bad thing, it just gets kind of corny. The funny thing is though its creating a hip street trend, kind of ironic

this is exactly what i mean. I ride with a small group of my best friends nearly everyday, and we film eachother and have great times. but i don't find it necessary to give ourselves a "crew name" it just seems corny

I don't see anything wrong with crews. Alpaca Flip is still here, and filming with potatoes. Doesn't matter how good you are either as long as you are having fun. I suck, because I barely get to ride my scooter anymore. The key is just enjoying hanging out, and riding with your group of friends.

friendly reppin!

Riding in a crew makes scootering more enjoyable. Why? you ride with a group of friends which is far more better than riding by yourself. Having a crew will provide you with opportunities to create videos/dvds which keeps you occupied during your time riding a scooter which prevents boredom. Thats some of the reasons why crews exists in our sport.

i dont think you guys understand what im saying
I guess we do: riding with friends is fun, but choosing a name, making a logo, a youtube channel, printing stickers etc., is, what you would call, corny, right?
Well, yeah, I partially agree, actually me and my riding fellows don't have all those kinds of things, but at the same time I don't see this as a huge problem at the moment. Maybe I don't surf through youtube channels much but still, I found nothing that could have caught my attention in a negative manner. Plus, I believe it's quite a healthy trend (unlike no footed rewinds, haha). If riders in a crew are all really good, they make a brand out of its name, and you begin to perceive it as a mark of quality. Like, every time I see a Friendly video in my subscription box, I totally go 'oh boy, this is going to be delightful'.

So yeah, being anti-trendy is trendy! ;)

don't really get clips for any videos but I pretty much just film and take photos of everyone and yep.
riding in a crew is the best.

Wrapped Up or Die Bitches!

It just a group of dudes who ride, chill, take photos, make videos and adventure together.

its like everybody is trying to emulate venture, friendly, kids crew,etc... i don't get it

This is literally the best part about crews, and you're painting it in a negative light.

Friendly is one of the best things in my life, inside and outside of scooters. It's a solid group of dudes who all have a common passion, but also get along on different levels as well.
If we inspire other people to get together and promote themselves / the sport in their own way, and hang out with a group of homies that all get along, i'm hyped for them.
