None of the hardware stores near me have the right size tubing (diameter). I've tried bunnings, mitre10, super cheap and a few others.

bunnings has those poles duder, just cut the threading off the ends.

i hate those threads grr took me hours and hours trying to get my barends in, broke the barends then realised i hadnt completely cut the threads of ahhh =[
