crown race

i got my SR threadless fork today but i was wondering does the crown race go all the way to the bottom of the fork or does it sit about a cm above the bottom.

if it does go all the way down then how do get it down there
btw i am using the race from a fsa pig dh pro

You are supposed to hammer it on. Otherwise , how are you going to get it in? You can put a cloth or something similar on the crown race and hammer if you are afraid to scratch your crown race. If you are afraid to do it , bring your fork and crown race to a bike shop.

how to pit in your cups easily:

headset press

tighten the cups in with wrenches

Be careful, i bent my FSA's race. Maybe use a rubber mallet if you have a decent one.

So you can use any crown race? Like stock ones, FSA's etc..

Crown race comes with every headset when you buy it. If you bought a FSA Pig , it is package together with a crown race specially for FSA Pigs. If you bought a FSA Orbit headset , in its packaging comes with a crown race specially for FSA Orbits. So if you buy a 1 1/8" headset , the crown race which comes together with it will fit forks which fit 1 1/8" headsets ( SR forks , Razor forks etc).

i had the same problem 2day, i filed the inside of it till it fited perfectly
