Custom bar reinforcements

This is a good idea if you can't afford rides/rads/buffs or somewhere outside of U.S.A or Aus.

I came up with this idea about a month and a half ago

bar reinforcment, notice how both bits are the same thickness!

And that's what it looks like if you lift the bootom up! the inside of the lower bit is also reinforced

Bassicly the idea is to take an old steer tube and place it round the outsite of the t-tube

Then inside the steer tube insert an old t-tube so that the bars have doouble layers all over,

You will need a saw, a tape measure, and some form of marker/pencil! Cut each piece to length you need using the hacksaw after measuring it with a tape measure and pencil of course. then you can now use them!

I don't see if there should be any pressure point at the T-tube, since it's more likely to snap a forktube before t-tubes off steertubes. Tho i remember Erti bending his T-tube and having dents in them although his were made out of like some really thin steel or something. Like a tin foil lol.

Ah c'mon, it can't be heavy, it's made out of aluminium.

nice idea... but whens the last time you've ever seen someone break there bars... you break the fork dahhh... j/k you could break them some how... so stick with it if it works

yes, but not nearly as much as at the fork, plus if you break your t-tube, they're easy to replace with a seatpost or something..

up... most of those scoots t-tubes were cut to reinforce their fork... so it was easier to break for the t-tube come off

I think after you put that , you won't have broken t tubes at that part posted in 2 pictures but at the part between your clamp and the reinforcement. When you reinforce , you must have the whole thing solid not just one part. Don't ask why. Maybe Andrew understands me better.

haha, no body would cut a ttube and then use the like 6 inch part left for bars. people use old broken ttubes to reinforce their forks. not un broken ones.

Does this mod stop the bending of the bars on the t tube because i got a really problem with that?
no, i just realised it would put the pressure down more to where they connect, so if your bars broke, it wouldn't be int he middle, but right above the clamp, and you couldnt get your bars out...
