Cutting an Addict deck?

Hi, My friends addict cracked on the drop outs , and is it possible to cut the deck down so he can use it again?, any tips how to do it?

cut it off and then drill the new holes. then cut back the part where the brake goes the same amount as you did with the dropouts (say like half an inch) and drill the new brake hole. file it all down to make it smooth if you want to.

I did it with an Ethic:

It would be more difficult with an Addict because it doesn't have a uniform cross-section
