seeing dance gavin dance tomorrow live.
i am BEYOND stoked for this show. they have grown to be one of my favorite bands. Just looked on youtube a little while ago and a show they played really recently didn't have their screamer (Jon Mess), and one of the comments said he has Lyme disease. I hope he is better for tomorrow.

edit:
now i read that he may be out of the band? damn.

edit 2:

Original members Jon Mess and Eric Lodge left Dance Gavin Dance immediately following the recording of the upcoming untitled release. Will Swan is currently screaming in lieu of Jon Mess, and Jason Ellis (formerly of Five Minute Ride) has taken Eric Lodge's place on bass duties. This information was confirmed on July 10th, when Dance Gavin Dance posted a bulletin about their current lineup, addressing rumors of Zach Elizondo joining the band. Only two original members (Will Swan and Matt Mingus) remain in the band at this time. According to a statement by Kurt Travis on a youtube video added on July 11th, Jon Mess had to quit this recent tour with A Static Lullaby and others due to illness from lyme disease. It is unsure if he is permanently out of the band at this time. The band has recently taken Jon Mess' name off of their purevolume page; raising more suspicion that Jon and the band have gone their separate ways.

I talked with Kurt and Matt today before the show. Both of which skate by the way so we seshed and made a day video hahaha. Anyway, they told me that Jon Mess is officially out of the band, which sucks. Will is alright at screaming the vocals but he is not Jon obvs. Their set was still awesome though, and I conned them into playing one of their new songs "Buffalo!" because they were in Buffalo haha. Will heard me listening to their new CD in the parking lot too, and I heard Kurt telling some other guy (from A Static Lullaby I'm pretty sure) that their CD had leaked already and how pissed he was about it haha.

Great show.

So this definitely needed to be bumped, such an amazing band.

I finally got around to downloading all of Downtown Battle Mountain, before I had only download "And I Told Them I Invented Times New Roman" and listened to "Me And Zoloft Get Along Fine". But now that I downloaded the whole album I like DGD sooooo much more. My favorite tracks from Downtown Battle Mountain are definitely "Its Safe To Say You Dig The Backseat" and "Open Your Eyes And Look North". Sooooo good.

lol, i just saw this post.

Well, your "favorite band ever" has a new album. Last november they lost their lead singer (Jonny, now in Emarosa). New vocalist, Kurt, helped the band set work on a new album. After its recording back in spring, screamer (Jon) and their bassist left the band. Kurt's old band mate joined the band as bassist, and Will (one of the two guitarists) now screams Jon's parts at shows. The band is soo different now. Still good, just not as good as they were.

I started listening to them like two days ago, and nomrally I hate music with screaming in them, but I really seem to like DGD.

Saw them live with BK the other night.

The line to get in was SOOO long.... So 2 of my friends held our spots in line while me and bk chugged some beers in my car to make the line-standing more entertaining as well as the beginning of the show haha.

After finally getting in, we got to see foxy shazam. It was the 2nd time i've seen them live, and I don't have any more to say about them. They are fucking weird. It's a good thing though. They have a good stage presence and whatnot, their songs aren't overly appealing though.

Sky Eats Airplane. 2nd time I've seen them as well. Good stuff. Used some of their breakdowns to work my way further towards the front for DGD.

Dance Gavin Dance - AGH so good. Me and BK were literally jumping and punching the people in front of us, and SCREAMING all the screamed parts right at the stage, and just fucking going all out. While DGD was setting up, we asked the kids in front of us if they wanted to switch spots for this set, since we were leaving after DGD they would have banging spots for senses fail. They said no. During DGD's set we punch and screamed our way further forward... and the so called DGD fans in front of us were barely moving.

During the breakdown in Burning Down the Nicatine Armoire Pt. 2 I just started pushing people and going crazy on the floor, I've never been so pumped or into music in my life. I was completely engorged in the music and that is one moment I know I won't forget.

After the show we were talking to the band about their last show at XW and how it sucked we couldnt session together like last time haha. I also asked them if they wanted to get fucked up that ngiht but kurt laughed at me haha. damn.

me and bk played scoot during senses fail, i felt like i just got done riding for a week straight without a shower. completely soaked in sweat and just completely dead.

best fucking show i've ever been to.
so amazing.
so much crowd involvement.
soooo fucking good.

if i ever get to see one of their shows in their hometown, i would loveee it. I hear they are awesome and just everyone who attends those shows is completely into the band, so that's sick as fuck.
