rants pt. 2, READ!
I typed a way longer version of this, but it got erased, and i'm pissed, so i'm just going to sum it up quickly.
This is rants 2 blog, and some things that really piss me off.
1. The Iraq War.
I don't understand how the hell this war is still going on, a war based on lies and corruption,that has torn this country apart.
First off, in case you didn't know, by the end of this war, it is estimated it will cost us 2.4 trillion dollars, just try to comprehend that number real quick, and just to give you a clue of how much good could be done with this money, heres a few things that could be bought with it:
a. just 41 fucking days of fighting in iraq, could fund the SCHIP program for a year, giving healthcare to nearly 10 million kids. Whats better Mr. Bush, life or death? Obviously, death to you, since you vetoed the bill to give those 10 million kids healthcare, and you are still asking for billions and billions more to fund your bullshit war.
b. it could feed AND educate the worlds poor for nearly 28 years, putting a real fight against poverty.
c. it could have paid for 4 years of healthcare for everyone, not to mention an excellent universal healthcare system.
d. nearly 72 months of free gas for EVERYONE, not to mention many eco-friendly cars.
e. over 60 million free rides at harvard, imagine the amount at a state university!
Obviously, this money could be used to improve our country and world so much, yet its spent on a war based on lies and bullshit, what lies you ask?
1. Bush said Al Qaeda and Saddam had links, which is complete bullshit, in fact, saddam has publicly spoken out against al qaeda, bashing them saying he hated them, hm, great allies huh?
2. Bush also said Iraq had Weapons of Mass destruction to use against us, once again, this assertion is false. The CIA actually sent a man, joe wilson, to iraq to see if there were in fact any WMD's, he returned saying that claim was false, and they had nothing. The bush administration did not listen, and continued to claim they had WMD's, and by using the words "terrorist, and evildoer" and many others, and saying this over and over again, the public was led into backing this war, when in fact, there was no credible reason to ever invade iraq.
The main point is, Saddam and Iraq was NO THREAT AT ALL to the U.S., and this war, which has set us back 2.4 trillion dollars, has caused 4,000 dead americans, one hundred thousand wounded americans, 655 fucking thousand dead iraqis, and over a million wounded iraqis, is absolutely pointless. All of these people have died for nothing, and it is a fucking shame. The biggest criminal in our country is President Bush, just for all of the death he has caused.
I probably left alot out, but i don't feel like re-typing everything.
Pt 2: The fact that Bush and Cheney have yet to be impeached.
Bush had commited several impeachable offenses, including illegal wiretapping, lying to the public to start a war, violating international law, torturing prisoners, and he has practically completely disregarded the constitution, and walks all over it. If a democrat did this, his ass would have been out months ago, the fact that this man, who has yet to do ONE good thing for our country, is still in office, is completely fucked up, and needs to be changed NOW.
Pt 3: The fact that war and religion are talked about together all the time:
All the time, I hear, "What would Jesus Do? Of course he would invade Iraq and protect the U.S."
Oh really, is that so? Jesus stood for non stop bloodshed, corruption, and lying? Well damn, I never knew that. My ass, stop using religion as an excuse to back the war or any of the bad things the bush administration is doing, because I highly doubt god or jesus would approve of one fucking thing that is going on.
Pt 4: People against Gay Marriage.
This is just mind blowing, that people can be against this. There is absolutely no reason gays shouldnt be able to get married. Are they going to hurt you? Absolutely Not. And the argument i always hear is that god said it was bad, and in the bible it states gay marriage is bad. I'm sorry, but when I think of a god, I don't think of a god that would disapprove of gay marriage, everyone is equal, and you cannot fucking tell a person who to love or what to do. While I don't believe that god interacts with the world, therefore I do not pray, I still do not think of a god who created the universe without an open mind. And, half of the people who speak out publicly against gay marriage, end up being homosexual themselves, thats fucking great, haha.
Pt 5: Damn myspace, for deleting my blog which had like 8 parts and way more detail, and I don't feel like retyping it right now, I may update it later, but whatever, enjoy this shit for now.
Wanted to share this with people who might not have myspace who really should see the great points this kid makes.
I commend you my good sir for this is very well written, I agree with you on some stuff but I also have some point to make. Ill give just a few for now, The main point is, Saddam and Iraq was NO THREAT AT ALL to the U.S Technically he wasnt, but he was still committing genocide against the Kurds, we stopped Hitler, why not Saddam? Hitler was trying to take over the world but Saddam wasnt but he was still killing mass amounts of innocent people. The amount of people that are dead in this war isnt even that bad compared to past wars, this war has been going on since March 2003, a little more than 4.5 years with roughly 4,000 dead american troops. World War I was from 1917-1918, overall a bit more than one year with roughly 117,000 dead american troops. We had less of a reason to be in World War I. Saddam did have links with terrorists groups but lied later to try to save his ass. The whole impeachment thing is a mystery to me as well, I would have thought by now especially with a democratic house of representative he would have been impeached. I do believe a lot of money is needed but we have definitely spent way more than needed. Most of the time people who are against gay marriage are against it because of tradition, originally marriage was a bond between christian man and woman, and man + man or woman + woman was wrong. Marriage has evolved now into a more of a legal bond which I could see how that would make traditional christians mad. Some people are just fucked and think it is weird that same sex couples are together at all but every country has that problem not just us. I personally have no problem with it. Damn myspace is right! Corrupt or not this is still the best country in the world. Ill probably update some more point later<333
