Darn Star Nut Problems

ok so i tried pounding the starnut in with a socket (and hammer) and it went in perfectly straight. but it wouldnt go down anymore, so i tried using an end of an extension, and the hole for the bolt is crooked. it seems like the flanges arent evenly pounded in either, but the nut is perfectly straight in the bars. but that hole is crooked, and i need to know how i can fix that. do i need a new star nut? and what is the best thing to pound it in with so it doesnt f--- up?

please help, i'll love you forever.

You should've pounded it in with a long pipe that fits in there with a little room to spare, but i don't really understand what you're saying.

ok you know how the star nut has the hole for the bolt to go through? well the area around it is all bent, but the nut is in perfectly straight. so if you put the bolt in, its crooked as fuck. how do i fix that? do i need a new starnut or what?

If the threaded hole is crooked you might have messed it up. Try hitting a side of the starnut and see if you can get the bolt to go through. If you can't you probably need to get a new one.

idk if its the wrong section, but the bolt goes in fine, its just the middle of the starnut is crooked, but the nut is in straight.

i would use a rubber mallet to pound it in.

i would just get a new one. cause you could try and straighten it back but it sounds weak and if you tighten the bolt it will probably break.

just get a new one.

i used a stock razor handlebar and worked great. but still follow the SR Pro Fork/Compression System Instructions

You hammer that star nut into your handle bars, like down where the threads of a fork usually screw in and if you have stock razor bars, you hammer it past where it tapers, you then slide it over the fork, put the compression bolt through the hole in the bottom of the fork, and it tightens into the star nut into your bars to keep your shit tight.

You hammer that star nut into your handle bars, like down where the threads of a fork usually screw in and if you have stock razor bars, you hammer it past where it tapers, you then slide it over the fork, put the compression bolt through the hole in the bottom of the fork, and it tightens into the star nut into your bars to keep your #### tight.

i guess i can understand that lol
