Awkward trick if you spin and whip the same way. I find it easier to oppo 360 when doing it so i dont have to catch heels. But if you spin opposite that you 3 it should be pretty easy to get just keep practicing.

matt, i just don't understand it. i can frontside truck, front 3 big things, downside whips are on lock flat and down sets. but i've literally never landed a decade or 3 down whip out of anything ever in my life. i just don't get that trick. i can backside decade and 360 downside heel really well though?

they're basically the same thing. I'm pretty good at decades, heres my advice
learn them out of a flat bank, then take them flat.
spin hard fs, kick the deck a little bit, so you'll meet it at 270
kick your feet up, as if your trying to touch your heels to your ass
keep your chest over your bars, and stay in line. like don't let your body go out to the side in an attempt to reach the deck. you'll only fall on your ass.
spot the deck and catch it when you're above it
once you get the rotation really well, then you can try decades flat. its the same thing just don't kick the deck and stomp it when you're over it. 360 downside whips are better for gaps or ramps, decades for flat. for me anyway

Dude they are super hard to get on lock. 3 down whips are a ton easier. Just kick the deck out like 90 and get your feet out to catch the deck. I've landed like 10 on flat. Out of a flat bank they are good.

They are hard to get on lock, but once you get them they are the funnest trick. I can do them over big boxes/spines now. I think i was the first person ever to do a decade late bartwist? And i've been doing 720 decades now:)

Id say, when you go to jump for the decade, keep the deck on the ground. dont try to bunnyhop, THEN do it. start your spin on the ground, and then have the deck come up and meet you. from there its practice.
