Wood flexes under load, so I don't see how it would do much good besides add weight. Only wood reinforcement or deck I would run is oak, but that stuff is heavy as hell.

I woulda thought that the wood would snap fairly fast even if it is against the grain, I would enjoy the ride but I reckon the second to you grind it would bruise te wood and leave marks, unless you were to use red gum or sumthin, but thats flippin heavy. I'm thinking about using just a single steel 25b25 box thing and rapping something light and replacable around it as a deck...

i always thought about tht.. like putting a solid piece of wood all the way down the solid part of the deck. isnt it heavy tho?

and nah i wouldnt use wood cuz for one it flexes like someone said two its heavy as sh*t like someone said
and three its just gonna snap like a skate deck does after a while
unless u use compressed wood like they do with skate decks now which i think would be alot lighter and more strong

serously. if we got some .75x20" pices of oak. that would be hella tank. i have a viper deck and im board with it. so ima do that. i will post up when it is done.and ride it beast for a bit.
