Deck Width? Differences?

I am wondering how different a 4" deck is to a 4.5".

What factors go into your decision to get one or the other - like if you have big feet, should you automatically get the wider deck?

Or is it a weight thing?

Half an inch - a quarter inch per side, seems so minimal, can you really tell the difference when you ride 'em?

There must be something I'm missing. Is one stronger than the other? Thanks.

1. just because you have big feet doesnt mean you HAVE to get a 4.5

2. a 4.5 is generaly the same weight but it definatly is a little heavier, but you probably wont be able to feel a diference

3. yes a quarter inch on each side seem like not much but when you ride a 4.0 for a while and then switch to a 4.5 you totaly feel the diference, or 4.5 to 4.0

4. and 4.5 decks are just as strong as a 4.0, it mostly has nothing to do with strength or weight, its all about rider preference, if you like wider decks get a 4.5 if you like not as wide get a 4.0 its all about what the rider likes.

Okay I've gone from a razor pro (4") to a 4.5" deck and the difference is definately there. As soon as I pulled it out of the box I was like 'Holy shit thats wiiide'. Feels alot nicer to ride 4.5, unless you do flat/ tech. For flow riding and for bigger feet its amazing

I never understood why they make them so narrow. I put a skateboard deck on mine, and I've never scraped the sides, but then I don'[t really do flippy tricks. My shit's hella wide at 7.5 inches.

you should probably cut the tail off

Then how would I ollie? (j/k)

I like it looooong... I like all the room - and I like using it for wheelies without having to stress any other parts of the scoot. Makes it so I can manual forever in comfort... I like it - plus it's my beater scooter anyway - I'm in the process of building one up proper. Respect.
