Ok so im in the market for a new camera. what is a good camera for 600 dollars

well, the rebel xt's are usually 800
digi rebels(not xt. or xti) are like 600ish if they still carry them
im not sure but nikon d40's are like 450ish
and d50's are a little more expensive, like 500 something. so i suggest the d50 or rebel

d40s are 530. i reccomend buying from www.bhphoto.com if you find it really cheap, its most likely a scam.

and d50s arent made any more so you might be able to find them refurbished or something, maybe some stores still have it in stock just make sure you are ordering from a reputable shop.

i dont know much about the canons but i love my d40. it has some really good features and is a good learning camera. you can still do alot of adjusting of things but its not going to overwhelm you. if you are totaly new i reccomend the d40. if you are more experianced i reccomend the d50. both are great cameras and you cant go wrong.

i happen to like the d40. cannon 20d is amazing though but a bit expensive.
