dirt scoot adversity/support

cash is king, i feel you man, i probs wont ever run into one unless i see a used one for a hookup. aka a long time from now. makes you wish you had the opportunity like the rest of these guys. it's almost why i started the thread in the first place, I think the companies need to branch out to the talented bicycle riders on dirt that are also exceptional scooter riders. exposure + new features to be ridden + free shit. everyone could win, right? cause i know if you truely liked what you saw when someones BLASTIN that thing street park and dirt, 300$ could become an option. people fork out a LOT of money to ride BMX bikes. and you'd be getting the top quality option of a scooter for 300$. someday :)

I wanna get into dirt riding, seems like it's somewhere I'd be able to flow and ride however I want without all the bullshit you get with riding at a skatepark or street spots.

I will be riding one. I love motocross, mountain biking and dirt jumping, so I don't see why I wouldn't go for it.

EDIT: An idea occurred to me, would dirt scooters allow the variety of having slide able features in dirt riding? Imagine the possibilities :)

Yeaaaa like a mini snow park. we been building some stuff like this. probably have some rainbow rails and mailboxes put up this winter gonna be so weird lol

I will be getting one and I will probably ride it exclusively for a few weeks.

If you couldn't tell by now I like to pretend I'm on a bike anyway ;)

I could see people actually transitioning from scootering to this. I feel like it would put a lot of bike and scoot riders in one sport and create something pretty great.

I think it'd be sick making a little pump track just for riding a DS on and even making a dirt quarter. I don't have the money for one sadly :(

Hopefully this new kind of scooter riding doesn't go in the wrong direction. I swear to god if all I see is flips and bar/whip combos I'm gonna cry. I sincerely hope that dirt riding focuses on style and flow, not tricks and crowd pleasing.

I reckon that trail clips would fit in well with other clips (street/park) in an edit, as long as the other clips are NOT on a dirt scooter. Street riding on a dirt scooter looks wack as fuck in my opinion, unless it is something very specific for dirt or really gnarly. For example tricking a set to grass/riding grass toward a set in my opinion looks stupid and unnecessary, however a naturally occuring dirt ramp to wallride or railhop to like a grass hill bomb or something would be cool. Riding a dirt scooter on park is just completely unneeded.

I plan on getting one, but luckilly i should be getting it for free. not sure i could warrant £300 if it was my own cash.

As an older rider, who comes back with an ache from most sessions, i feel that it will be good to give my bones a bit of a rest from the solid scoot. Most of my riding now is pumping around bowls, so hooning around a pump track sounds like fun :) none of this 30 foot drop stuff tho, im too much of a pussy :), ill leave that to rob wass

i would ride it alot if i had it actually, really good trails by my house and alot of good pots for it

I would still mainly ride my normal scooter but it would be sick to ride my uncles trails and show him that scooters arn't gay. Hopefully dirt scooters don't go into the wrong hands though, like little kids or this new sport will be ruined.

Saw a thread, but it didn't exactly cover what I was thinking. Who plans on purchasing a dirt scooter? Anyone from the dirt jumping scene going to try their hand at it? Do you think it's going to thrive as well as scooters have, and will it be comparably fun to riding a bicycle? I have years of experience trail riding and dirt jumping on a bike, and many many years on a street scoot, but no means to acquire a dirt scoot. I believe the companys that are building these things should look into the current scene and find the riders that have a good skill set of DJing and scootering combined, and have them bring this new aspect of the sport to the best light possible. I love how RAD is all former trail and bike riders, we need more riders with diverse styles on these features! I live in Central Oregon, AKA trail riding/dirtjumping central lol. I could be a good asset to this part of the sport, I know literal dozens of spots in a five mile radius (NW FTW). I'm just fishing for opinions of whether to a.) purchase in the first place, b.) is it as fun as it's predecessor? [bicycle] c.) what companies are going to be involved in this branch of the sport d.) is it worth not putting the effort into further building street scooting versus dirt riding? Comment if you feel you have legitimate input, or if you support and want to see styles of dirt jumping on scooters branch out to thirty + foot stepdowns, large drops, insane straight up and down doubles with constant trail flow, ladders, and mad, mad scrubbage. thanks :D

I also am looking for a DJ that rides scooters, but I can't find one :(

When I hear of these new Dirt Scooters I think of this...The Oldschool Dirt Scooter.

I used to ride trails back in the 90's on one of these. There wasn't ever a problem with my BMX buddies, they loved it. Though they may have saw it as more of a novelty than a new sport. Still fun regardless.
