Dirt scooter at skatepark

Hi
I have an MGP dirt scooter and I have a lot of trouble at the skateboard park in that it keeps kicking out from under me and I end up falling on my back. I was not too sure if this was because I was a new rider or was it the fault of the scooter. What do you think? Would a new scooter solve my problem or should I just stick it out and learn to ride bEtter?

okay so im not really sure of your problem here or how its happening, but i dont think MGP's dirt scooters were designed for skatepark ramps / dirt jumps. I've ridden one myself and they pretty large to do tricks on, so theyre more of a road / downhill scooter for hillbombs. So these scooters arent necessarily designed for any usual scooter tricks. Sure, its possible to do them and all, but its pretty damn hard

I rode the XT version though, you might have the smaller version which is designed more for tricks so compared to the XT. If you do have the smaller version, it should be fine for now with beginner park riding and all, but you'll probably have to upgrade later to something like a Phase Two dirt scooter or so, which are more directed towards tricks.

I guess fundamentally that is my question. I do not want to invest in a new scooter and have the same problems. Has anyone else found that a dirt scooter will kick out, but they can ride a regular scooter?
