Do Wheels really make a difference?

I have rode razor wheels since scootering and nothing else, if i invested in proto grippers would it be a big, drastic difference, or are wheels just an overrated part. It might seem stupid, but ive never ridden them before, i wanna know how it feels compared to razor wheels, even compared to blunt wheels if youve ridden those.TY

I use to ride stock wheels but i recently got my Proto Sliders, my style and trick accuracy have improved a lot. I would say, its worth it.

Yup, Wheels right next to your bars are something you want to make sure a great before you get anything else. You can always take the bars that fit you, the proto grippers, and put them on a pro model and phoenix and it'll work the same and look fine. If you put razor wheels and stock bars and put them on a phoenix, well that'd be different.

yeah, i would say wheels, bars and fork are most important (unless you 180 a lot) because if any one of these breaks when you go big, your fucked. If you 180 a lot (like drops or watever) then you want a strong deck too

Actually, a fact is metal cores do chunk easier, but their urethane quality usually causes that to be negated.
Think of it, a plastic core willl flex when you land sideways, and it'll absorb some energy, as will the urethane. With an aluminum core, its more rigid and all the force goes to the urethane.

YES wheels make a huge difference. Stock wheels break in the core all the time. With, for example, grippers, with the metal core, you won't ever break the core. The only risk of breaking anything on a metal core is the urethane. It might dehub or chunk, but that's the good thing about proto wheels. They have lifetime warranty :)

Is petrol really that important for a car? Of course it is. Spend big, support the sport and ride in comfort and style. The worst thing you can do is ask people what wheels are best. You will almost always get a different answer and it's all preference based really. Wheels performances will differ depending on your ride style, body build and surfaces that you ride, so the best wheel for your mate is probably the worst wheels for you. Just trial and error pretty much, ride other peeps scooters at the local and try their wheels, or just go for a big name.

Pretty much can't go wrong with eagles or protos

As far as the actual feel goes, The cleaner you ride the less of a difference good wheels make. But as far as stregnth, metal cores will last you much much longer.
But if you like landing tricks Brendon Smith style (sideways), get harder wheels so you don't destroy them.

Yeah it does. you can have really heavy, slow wheels like I do, and suck ass, and then get small fast ones and your fucking catching shit with time to do it again.

wheels make or break your style, simply.
