Do you have to put a shim on your bars when using a SCS?

no are they oversized no if there are not its a good idea

but as everyone has already told you if your bars are regular size 1 1/4" o.d. then you do need the shim, however if they are oversized 1 3/8" o.d. then you do not. either way the scs comes with the shim so you will be able to figure it out on your own when you get it...
