I've come up with a solution to stripping SCS which will allow you to never need to cut a bolt, or cut the SCS, or go through any of the shit that people have to now when they mess up their scs. Just recently I stripped two of my SCS bolts and i went back to HIC. Which is a good solution to everything, but for those of you who enjoy SCS....
But I have a solution! And it's so simple, that... it's upsetting no one has done it yet!
I'm going to use blazer SCS as an example in this.
This is the issue. Right here. You can't see it because it's been the issue with many clamps and SCS.
The bolt threads into the SCS. There in is the problem. Simply put, if a hole strips you need to retap it or get a new SCS for maximum efficiency.
Simple solution? Cut that shit out.
Bam.
CNC'ing a hexagon into the side of the SCS for a 1/4th nut and using a 1/4th inch allen bolt (grade 8 of course) would ELIMINATE any chance of stripping the SCS. Because the bolt tightens into the nut and compresses the SCS.
If the nut fucks up, buy a new nut. If the bolt breaks, you can just pull it out instead of cutting it and potentially ruining the SCS.
Someone get on this.
I probably forgot something but you get the jist of the idea.
