Don't pirate software...

If you admit to pirating here, you are just as stupid as telling a cop you are a thief. You might not think that a small scooter community is left unseen by records companies or the MPAA or whoever else, you are wrong. There are people out there who get paid on a daily basis to find people like Brian. Yeah, I understand that this happens to many people, but its more common than you think. They don't even have to be browsing this website page by page, but they have tools and search engines that help them find pages like this. Always remember that BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING YOU!

and? theres a difference between telling a cop youre a thief and getting caught by a cop for stealing something. they cant charge you with a crime for typing that you did it on a message board.

and even if you do get caught, which is extremely unlikely, its so easy to get out of piracy charges anymore it wont even matter.

Yes you are right Sean, but if you have been accused of pirating, then you come on here and admit to it you are guilty by evidence. That is if it is brought to attention.

Seans right. This small scooter community is left unseen by all of the major companies. Why would they waste their time here? So they can see a bunch of kids say they download stuff? Theres no action here, and no proof they can use to charge people with offenses on here edit:except me, and im not that worried about it. "...people like Brian", you make yourself sound so innocent. I guess you got permission from Thrice, Adolescence, Children of Bodom and and many other bands to use their music in the NBS videos...

Companies hire people to go on all of the torrent sites and monitor/log who downloads their media. Then they have some proof if they want to press charges and/or notify ISPs about what a customer is doing on their connection.

Brian, how the fuck do you know that major companies aren't looking at this site right now? You think they got better fish to fry?

LOL You don't know everything Brian. hahha

BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING YOU!

oh and by the way, I wasn't trying to make you sound like a criminal, but since you put it that way, I guess your point makes me a criminal as well. Cuff me.

if this is true why is it technically against the rules to talk about pirated anything?

I got myself banned.
I personally don't like people sharing links to files...

Couple of reasons why...
-this isn't a warez forum
-so offsite links don't get traced back here
-morals
-keep kids out of trouble (reason for thread)

You would probably get banned for giving tips to people on the forum on how to steal scooters, its the same for software.

If you use anything other than utorrent or azareus your retarded. Doesn't bitloard have spyware in it?

not even azureus anymore. i just read that i got bought out by someone and supposedly theyre forwarding torrent information to the mpaa and the riaa. not sure how true that is, but either way, safer to stay away from it.

omfg, yes, it is
i just recieved this email:

Dear Customer,

We are writing on behalf of Cox Communications to advise you that we have received a notification that you are using your Cox High Speed Internet service to post or transmit material that infringes the copyrights of a complainant's members. We have included a copy of the complaint letter. Pursuant to the provisions of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act ("DMCA"), which is codified at 17 U.S.C. Ã?Æ?Ã?â??Ã?¢ââ??¬Ã?¡Ã?Æ?ââ?¬Å¡Ã?â??Ã?§ 512, upon receiving such notification, Cox is required to "act expeditiously to remove, or disable access to" the infringing material in order to avoid liability for any alleged copyright infringement. Accordingly, Cox will suspend your account and disable your connection to the Internet within 24 hours of your receipt of this email if the offending material is not removed.

Please be aware that the DMCA also provides procedures by which a subscriber accused of copyright violation can respond to the allegations of infringement and, under certain circumstances, cause his or her account to be reinstated. To do so, however, the response must meet certain criteria. Pursuant to section (g) of the DMCA (17 U.S.C. Ã?Æ?Ã?â??Ã?¢ââ??¬Ã?¡Ã?Æ?ââ?¬Å¡Ã?â??Ã?§ 512(g)), you have the right to submit to Cox a counter-notification which, to be effective, must include the following elements:

(a) a physical or electronic signature of the subscriber;
(b) identification of the material that has been removed or to which access has been disabled and the location at which the material appeared before it was removed or disabled;
(c) a statement under penalty of perjury that the subscriber has a good faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification of the material to be removed or disabled;
(d) the subscriber's name, address, and telephone number and a statement that the subscriber consents to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for the judicial district in which the address is located.

In the event that you submit to Cox a counter-notification that includes these elements, Cox will forward your counter notification to the complainant and advise them that Cox will cease disabling access to the allegedly infringing material in ten (10) business days. Unless the complainant notifies us that it has filed an action seeking a court order to restrain you from engaging in the allegedly infringing activity prior to the expiration of those ten (10) business days, Cox will reactivate your account.

Haha dude... just stop downloading anything and don't go on sketchy website for the next few weeks. If they shut you internet off, call them and say you don't know what bittorrent is and you have a unsecured wireless connection and someone might have been on it. I just started downloading stuff again today
