I own SR.

changing the diameter would make it feel weird and possibly stretch your grips too much, and maybe he wants the tubes like that because he cares about strength more than weight and doesnt wanna pose off rad.
Think he meant wall thickness... not diameter. And yea, making them like RADs means you are copying and copying = lame.

YEAH!!! Andrew = correct! Copying = lame...

I got my own bars. Nothing like rads. My material = weaker but my welding might be better. Rads are good stuff... Copying good stuff = you got nothing good.

I'm crazy but just agreeing with Andrew.

pete on your dream heavy metal scooter why would the tubes that come off the headtube and mount to the deck not be welded
Please show me an efficent and quick way of drawing welds in Sketchup. Thank you.

Actually, a bar design is more or less the same, there is not much to copy. But even in case of the gussets (Im assuming you mean them), I don't see how they reinforce the bar in a significant way (Im not saying they don't, Im sure that Cory knew what he was doing better than I am now). Anyway, supports like on my design (even though it was Madis who first published a design of such bars) would be stronger than the gussets + look cool, haha.

i never used sketchup before so sorry dude, those bars are a pretty good idea i just think they are ugly, i like the main idea of the deck but i think square tubes are cooler but ur probaly better at scootering than me and know whats up so, also alot of companys copy off eachother take bmx as an example

Being 'better at scootering' has nothing to do with scooter design and construction. If anyone's better at scootering it would be you because I suck ass compared to 80% noobs that show up. Square pipes are cooler - fine, but please tell me what are bike frames and generally most metal framework structures built of?

ok i had a new idea last night

bars= my bars i have my dream bars<3
wheels=red vapor in front and 100 yak in back.
deck= super strong new A with pro foldy. (i might soon have this im designing a way to reniforce it.)
bearings= bones ceramics.
grips= those bmx foam grips from i think simple scooters?
bar ends= a few people did it but the fsa top cap for barends.
neck clamp= a one peice triple neck clamp
fork= deffinitly a sweet SR fork. with comp. system.
welded foldy all around.
brake=a sweet madd/blade break. actually a sweet handbreak would be awesome.
some super smooth grind plates.

i think thats it.

oh and my just wear it sticker right on my bars

ok. well i know your being sarcastic but i have a few concepts right now i just need to go get some stuff
and i will put pictures up.

pete, i just think that the square tubing would be better for a scooter because the square will resist denting more and have more of a welding or bolting surface and the bearing spacers would fit better against a flat surface than a rounded one, im not trying to be an asshole or anything critisizing your ideas, have u seen my scooter before? the next that is all welded etc, and what does it matter if some one makes bars that look like rads, maybe rad v1 just copied off the razor t tube because thats 2 pieces of metal welded together omg gasp

bars made of square tubing? how will the bar ends fit and after putting on your grips , you probably will get grips broken grips. If it does not break , it will feel amazingly weird.

Don't really know what you mean but.... Your idea might be good. I'm sticking with the regular style though.

He talks about a deck, not a bar.

Fine, but anyone who is particularily keen on construction engineering will tell you that a round tube is STRONGER than a square one, because of how stress is distributed - notice that in case of the square tube the stress is applied only to two walls which are parallel to the direction of the force which is applied, while in case of a round pipe it's distributed over the whole profile.
And no, the one who criticizes is not an asshole, he is just someone who thinks diffrent.

definatly use round, it wont bend inward when you tighten stuff down. and the spacers can always be notched to fit snug against the round.

dont worry pete theres plenty of people i bet would agree with you (me being one :)), just do your original idea
