Yeah sup.

thought i'd ask here since thers a few aussies. n such.

anyway, school pretty much sucks kock in yeah 12 (or imo, whateer). i can't stand it anymore, it just seems to un-nessecary.

anyway, im hoping theres a few people that know aobut it. Don't give me the whole pep talk about 'wah wah bitch just do it pussy' or 'its important', because you dont know my situation.

anyway, anyway,

What I want to know is what are the actual ramifications of droping out? You can still go to uni after 2 years since your OP expires then, so why aren't more people droping out? I don't get it? Is it just a "follow the sheep" thing, or is it just in the schools best intrest to bulllshit you the "importance" of staying?
It doesn't make sence to me? So what are the downsides other then having to wait 2 years?

Ok i have no desire to go to university and ive been considering this alot lately about why i should stay why i should leave this is what i have come up with ad i am deciding to stay.

Presuming you are in grade 12 this year and in queensland i think?? from now on if you complete year 12 you get the QCE queensland certificate of education which actually means somethign unlike the old certificate this one shows you are somwwhat educated and not a total dic.k.fuc.k
THis is your last year of school somethign like 7 months to go until you will most likely be working for the rest of your life why not enjoy this year as kind of your last year of free life being able to hang out with friends all day not really having to stress about everything. Basically last year you will have of being a "kid".
If you are doing OP in a year or 2 you might decide you want to go to university and you will have to wait for your OP to expire and will most likely have to do tafe courses before you go to ensure your enrolment.
And of course the most important thing not being able to enjoy a legit schoolies.

these are just my reason u might look at thing totally different its just you . hope this helps u in soem way

ok i probably should explain my situation then.

at the end of year i will likely be doing an apprentiship in new zealand, as im likely moving back there.

After apprenstiship is done, i'll be managing a building as that's what my dad owns and has set me up with to do.

I'm not in the situiation where im gonig to be going to uni unless i decide to do a certificate in business or something, which i doubt i'll do. I'll be in business my entire life unless i screw up (hence the apprentiship).

Also: i've been to schoolies, it's over rated somewhat. getting drunk and fuckinng is so ridiculasly over rated and inside a 'pack mentality' that it drives me insane. theres nothing I hate more then masculine doucebaggery and it's rampant at schoolies

also, if anybody has any websites dealing with this type of thing please link me. I've looked on government websites, but of coruse they don't have anything to do with my situation as they are all about programs to get jobs.

well leave school and do that if uve got it all figured out? What happens if something falls throguh with the business and/or your apprenticeship you will have nothing to fall back on and nowadays many amployers wont look twic at people without a completed high school educatin imagine what it will be like in 20 years time ??

@ ryan,

um.. so your saying i should have backup - backup plan?..
I just said, if i fuck up in business then ill do the apprentiship. I doubt i wont get a job as an apprentice since the current trends for the past 40 years have showen trades are in higher demands as less people doing them.

@ Pete, I know, I should have droped out in Grade 10, but my situation has changed since then. I didnt know what i was going in greade 10

well everyone, from what ive heard.
From next year 2010, you are not allowed to dropout until you turn 17. so that may or may not affect you but eyah i reckon its gay..

honestly, ive just being through it all.

SERIOUSLY. if your NOT going to goto uni or or have no intentions of doing white collar work (office jobs etc) then dont bother doing year 12 well VCE anyway, which stands for victorian certificate of education. do VCAL instead.

if you are certain you want to get into a trade, then suss it out while your at school. find a school based apprenticeship doing what you want cause that will give you the best kick start to your career. also, while your still at school look for jobs flat out!! do not leave school if you haven't found a job yet, cause that would be dumb.

i did year 12 VCE cause i wasn't sure what i wanted to do. and honestly, year 12 wasnt that hard. i screwed around the whole year basically. i wish i had of got into a trade and left in like year 11, cause then i would be on my 2 or so year with a secure job. now the economy is shit, ive just finished school, and its ridiculously hard to find a job.

im 17 & in yaer 12, so no it wont effect me at all. it's not that bad of a law really,im pretty against new laws that are useless but i can see the reasoning behind it.
