Dust Spots on Sensor?!

I recently got my camera 2 days ago and the first day I noticed black spots when I took pictures, Annoys the hell out of me.
Anyway to clean it good? :S


EDIT: For some reason on my XT the shutter speed is only going to 200 highest no matter how I push the main dail on TV mode.

EDIT-2: Sorry, forgot TV modes shutter-speed can only go to 200, when flash is opened.

Well you can get special brushes for cleaning your sensor but I suggest that if you don't know what your doing you take it to a camera shop.

Is there a dust reference picture option on your camera? If there is you can take a picture of something white (white wall, white sheet, etc.) and it will recognize the spots and digitally remove them from your pictures.

I would just get it professionally cleaned. They sell stuff so you can clean it yourself but you'll end up just wasting your money.

if its on the sensor you DO NOT want to use a rag or a cleaning cloth.
You should get like a little squeze bottle that would blow air when squzed, and just keep squezing the bottle by the sensor.

Yeah McGowan had one of them, i can't remember if it works good though.

I've been on photography-on-the.net and they said bulb blowers help but not on welded dust. and told me to get a wet cleaning set.
I don't want to send in my camera because it around $40-189+ and takes about 2 weeks to get it back.

And the wet cleaning set is $30 and takes 10+ cleanings.

look on each side of your lens you might feel like a idiot when the dust disappears after you wipe both sides off haha I did

lol yea those things are always overlooked when you see spots..everyone always go right for the sensor.

haha same happened to me, three weeks after i got my xt, i had a dust spot, just put it in tv and go all the way down to bulb and hold the shutter down till you get it off
